“The dance is strong magic. The dance is a spirit. It turns the body to liquid steel. It makes it vibrate like a guitar. The body can fly without wings. It can sing without a voice. The dance is strong magic. The dance is life. ~ Pearl Primus

***8pm- 9pm – Being Movement – with Anne Egseth

Being Movement is mindfulness in motion, an enlivening practice where we attune to our bodies and experience connecting to our common Being-ness. With no steps to learn, no right or wrong, in this dance we move from the inside out, following and listening to our own energy, breath and aliveness.
Inspired by various conscious dance practices (such as the 5-Rhythms, Open Floor, Authentic Movement and others), on the dance floor we move beyond our habits and dance in service to each others’ embodied unfolding. From rigid to fluid, from passive to responsive we practice opening up possibilities for new ways of being, moving and relating in a grounded and safe way.

*** 9pm – Opening Circle

*** 9pm – 10:50pm – DJ ShantiNinja (aka Jun Montecillo)
He has a thirst for adventure an enthusiasm for something new. What’s next is always on his mind and he loves how this translates to creating sound journeys. More than anything he wants to make people dance, feel good, explode and be love. Artist who have inspired him: Tipper, Odesza, Chloze, Kamananda, Govinda, Flume and his special pixie.

Ecstatic Dance Guidelines

1. Move however you wish
2. No talking on the dance floor
3. Respect yourself and one another
4. Ecstatic Dance is a Drug & Alcohol Free Space
5. Please also refrain from photos, video, and shoes & scents.

Many people dance in their own space, and others share their space with another.

To engage in a dance with someone, use sensitivity: Are they open to sharing their space with me? Mirror movements, offer a hand, brush by, make eye contact, and see & feel how they respond…
