EVENT SCHEDULE:

DOORS OPEN @ 7:45pm – Stretch / Gather / Connect

*** 8pm – 9pm – Free Yourself w/ Steffi Seefeld

Dancing with Steffi is a wild and free, open hearted experience tapping into primal energies that inform our bodies before the thoughts get in the way. We will discover parts of ourselves that we have always known but perhaps not expressed in such a passionate play in the dance floor space. During this movement class we will use blindfolded movement to step beyond our conscious fears and limitations to allow our innermost creative side to break free. Dancers tune in to sound and movement to take an inner journey exploring a trancelike state of self-discovery and self-realization by heightening our inner awareness in a safe and carefully monitored group setting.

Steffi was born with a heart wide open… Having grown up in the richly diverse, creative and edgy environment of Berlin, Germany, she lives her life full out and full speed, sharing her gift of unconditional love in service to every being she encounters, cherishing raw, authentic experience, effortlessly inspiring others with her natural joy and compassion.

As a sacred space holder, she leads and encourages individuals and intentional groups in private and business settings. She is skilled in evoking visually creative states and free expression through art, movement, touch and words.

Steffi is a Master Business Coach, trained in Systemic Coaching and Mediation as well as being trained as an Expressive Arts Therapist in Germany and California. Her work is inspired by Ecstatic Dance, Daria Halprin, founder of the Tamalpa Institute and her mentor and friend John Michael Wasmer.

*** 9pm – 11pm – Ecstatic Dance Journey w/ Pascal de Lacaze from Ecstatic Dance Berlin

Pascal de Lacaze from Berlin plays music at events around the globe. His focus on rhythm and dance has made him friends in many communities: Dancers dig how his innovative DJ style connects with his energetic, modern drumming. Bands and Kirtan artists appreciate his steady, rocking world percussion and transcendental grooves. Since 2010 Pascal organizes Ecstatic Dances in Berlin. He is the resident DJ, accompanies his DJ sets with live percussion and cocreates live dance journeys. In workshops and at festivals he facilitates Body Bhajan – a fun and easy combination of chanting and body percussion.

Pascal loves rhythm, dance and movement, sacred sounds and bass music. He has been on a long musical journey, spanning from drumming on techno raves in the 90ies to being a drum-set player in a Jazz Big Band, conga drummer at club partys and percussionist for acclaimed Kirtan Artists like Dave Stringer, Janin Devi, Kevin James Carroll. Pascal holds a Master of Arts degree in Cultural Sciences and has worked as a copywriter, editor and social media manager. He is a certified Yoga & AcroYoga teacher and has a deep understanding of how to support nourishing group experiences.

Ecstatic Dance Guidelines

1. Move however you wish
2. No talking on the dance floor
3. Respect yourself and one another
4. Ecstatic Dance is a Drug & Alcohol-Free Space
5. Please also refrain from photos, video, and shoes & scents.

Many people dance in their own space, and others share their space with another.

To engage in a dance with someone, use sensitivity: Are they open to sharing their space with me? Mirror movements, offer a hand, brush by, make eye contact, and see & feel how they respond…
